Thames Barrier Park

Running alongside the river Thames, this expansive green space stretches out over 7-hectares. Its excellent views of the river and open green space make it the perfect place for a picnic, run, or stroll.

Watersports

One of the most exciting things to do in The Royal Docks is to have a go at some watersports. From wakeboarding for those who love to go fast, or paddle boarding for a more relaxed day there is definitely something for everyone. There is even a designated open-water swimming area, perfect for a hot summer’s day.

The Royal Docks

The Royal Docks have been around for over 100 years, meaning there is plenty of history to explore. You can take a look at things like the restored Millennium Mills, a symbol of the dock’s former flour production, or the docked SS Robin steamer, offering a glimpse into maritime history.

If you want to learn even more, then why not take a trip over to the Museum of London Docklands. Here you can get an insight into the past of London as a port city, looking at how it was the heart of the British empire.

Heroica Lounge

One of the most unique looking restaurants you will find on the docks is Heroica Lounge. They have transformed an old double decker bus into a fully functioning pizza restaurant.

Not only do they offer many different pizzas, but they also sell a range of alcoholic drinks such as cocktails and drafted beers. This can all be enjoyed from their rooftop seating area, located right next to the water, perfect for a hot summer’s day.

S’more Taste of Asia

If you instead fancy some food from the East, then S’MORE is for you. Their innovative cooking style uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create traditional Asian fusion meals. 

To add to this, they also specialise in cocktail making. Again, using fresh ingredients to offer a unique dining experience. As well as their seasonal and set menus, S’MORE also has vegetarian options, meaning there is something for everyone.

The Oiler Bar

Offering a “dockside experience like no other”, The Oiler Bar combines comedy with a beer garden. Situated on an old Navy refuelling barge, still ported on the river, they host some of London’s most unique events.

The Windjammer

A traditional pub with fresh seasonal food, The Windjammer is located right next to the river Thames, south of the docks. With bars on both floors and an outdoor terrace seating area, it’s a great choice for any beer garden lover.
